SPT - DIN EN ISO 12127

The standards DIN EN ISO 12127-2 and ISO 9150 define a test method for heat transmission and for the behavior of the properties of protective clothing materials when hit by hot metal drops, especially when these get stuck in the fabric folds.

A steel cylinder heated to approx. 600 ºC in a furnace is dropped onto a 20 ºC cold specimen. The first step is to check whether a hole is formed. If not,the se cond part of the test uses a calorimeter to determine the maximum temperature rise on the specimen.
