The test device is suitable for carrying out tests of vertical flame propagation with a 1 kW flame on wire, and insluated cable or a cable. The test device is also dessigned for the evaulation of burning drops or parts.

The test specimen is vertically clamped and exposed to a defined flame of a gas burner for a defined time. The test flame is verified by means of a clibration device. This determines how long it takes to generate a defined increase in the measured temperatur.
