The test equipment enables tests of the properties of textile materials in response to brief contact with a small flame.

The test samples of a set of specimens are successively ex­ posed to a flame for a given time. The propagation of the flame in vertical direction is tested. In each case, the time that elapses from the start of the test to the breaking of marker threads is measured.
