The DIN EN 60754-1 test device is used to determine the amount of hydrohalic acid that is produced when burning cable insulation, cable sheath and other materials. Hydrogen acids can cause significant damage to electrical and electronic equipment, even though they are not involved in the fire themselves. The procedure specified in the standard serves to check the requirements specified in the corresponding cable standards for the individual materials of a cable construction. It is also possible to test material combinations in consultation with the customer.
